Yitzchak entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. The LORD was entreated by him, and Rivka his wife conceived.


Mikhal the daughter of Sha'ul had no child to the day of her death.


He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for the LORD has spoken it.


Seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saying, *We will eat our own bread, and wear our own clothing: only let us be called by your name. Take away our reproach.*


But the angel said to him, *Don't be afraid, Zekharyah, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elisheva, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Yochanan.


After these days Elisheva, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying,


By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.


She said to her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may depart and go down on the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my companions.


Her rival provoked her sore, to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
