When they measured it with an omer, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack. They gathered every man according to his eating.


Now an omer is the tenth part of an efah.


*'If his offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of birds, then he shall offer his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.


If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the Kohen shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.'*


*If he is poor, and can't afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an efah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;


But if he is poorer than your valuation, then he shall be set before the Kohen, and the Kohen shall value him; according to the ability of him who vowed shall the Kohen value him.


He shall bring it to the Kohen, and the Kohen shall take his handful of it as the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire. It is a sin offering.


and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.


He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.


*This is the offering of Aharon and of his sons, which they shall offer to the LORD in the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an efah of fine flour for a meal offering perpetually, half of it in the morning, and half of it in the evening.

According to the Torah, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
