Then did Shlomo build a high place for Kemosh the abomination of Mo'av, on the mountain that is before Yerushalayim, and for Molekh the abomination of the children of `Ammon.


They caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.


He defiled Tofet, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molekh.


Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD cast out before the children of Yisra'el.


He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and practiced sorcery, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.


They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Kena`an. The land was polluted with blood.


They built the high places of Ba`al, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] to Molekh; which I didn't command them, neither did it come into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Yehudah to sin.


They have built the high places of Tofet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I didn't command, nor did it come into my mind.


and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through [the fire] all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.


and when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, house of Yisra'el? As I live, says the Lord GOD, I will not be inquired of by you;


For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands; and with their idols have they committed adultery; and they have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through [the fire] to them to be devoured.


For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, thus have they done in the midst of my house.


*'Whatever man there is of the children of Yisra'el, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who takes in hunting any animal or bird that may be eaten; he shall pour out its blood, and cover it with dust.


*'Every person that eats what dies of itself, or that which is torn by animals, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening: then he shall be clean.


*You shall say to them, 'Any man there is of the house of Yisra'el, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,


*'You shall not give any of your children to sacrifice to Molekh; neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.


The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,


*'A man or a woman that is a medium, or is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.'*


*Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.


He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.


Moshe spoke to the children of Yisra'el; and they brought forth him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Yisra'el did as the LORD commanded Moshe.


You took up the tent of Molekh, the star of your god Reifan, the figures which you made to worship. I will carry you away beyond Bavel.'


You shall not do so to the LORD your God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hates, have they done to their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.


If there be found in the midst of you, within any of your gates which the LORD your God gives you, man or woman, who does that which is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, in transgressing his covenant,


There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,


All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so shall you put away the evil from the midst of you; and all Yisra'el shall hear, and fear.


then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Yisra'el, to play the prostitute in her father's house: so shall you put away the evil from the midst of you.
