These are the children of Tziv`on: Ayah and `Anah. This is `Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the donkeys of Tziv`on his father.


The servants of Avshalom did to Amnon as Avshalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and every man got him up on his mule, and fled.


Avshalom happened to meet the servants of David. Avshalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the sky and earth; and the mule that was under him went on.


The king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Shlomo my son to ride on my own mule, and bring him down to Gichon:


Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred forty-five;


You shall do my ordinances, and you shall keep my statutes, and walk in them: I am the LORD your God.


You shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them. I am the LORD.'*

*Therefore you shall keep my mitzvot, and do them. I am the LORD.


*'Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.


He also told a parable to them. *No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.


And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.


Now, Yisra'el, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them; that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, gives you.


Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should do so in the midst of the land where you go in to possess it.
