Avraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Avraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.


He said, *Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, even Yitzchak, and go into the land of Moriyah. Offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.*


Avraham said, *God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.* So they both went together.


Noach built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.


The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.


They removed the burnt offerings, that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of the children of the people, to offer to the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moshe. So did they with the oxen.

He sent young men of the children of Yisra'el, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed shalom offerings of oxen to the LORD.


You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.


You shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and shall wash them with water.


It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.

*What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,* says the LORD. *I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don't delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.


For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Yisra'el, says the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Yisra'el, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

if the anointed Kohen sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he has sinned, a young bull without blemish to the LORD for a sin offering.


*'If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish.


*If anyone commits a trespass, and sins unwittingly, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.


He shall bring a ram without blemish from of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the Kohen; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning the thing in which he sinned and didn't know it, and he will be forgiven.


*If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against the LORD, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor,


The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,


*'But if the sacrifice of his offering is a vow, or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice; and on the next day what remains of it shall be eaten:


He presented the ram of the burnt offering: and Aharon and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.


He washed the innards and the legs with water; and Moshe burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a sweet savor. It was an offering made by fire to the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moshe.


and he said to Aharon, *Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.


*Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,* says the LORD of Armies. *Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.


*But the deceiver is cursed, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King,* says the LORD of Armies, *and my name is awesome among the nations.*


and will make an offering by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or as a freewill offering, or in your set feasts, to make a sweet savor to the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock;


When you prepare a bull for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or for shalom offerings to the LORD;


This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded, saying, Speak to the children of Yisra'el, that they bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no blemish, [and] on which never came yoke.


God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?


Balak said to Bil`am, Come now, I will take you to another place; peradventure it will please God that you may curse me them from there.


Bil`am said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: perhaps the LORD will come to meet me; and whatever he shows me I will tell you. He went to a bare height.


Balak did as Bil`am had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.

that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.


and you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of the LORD your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of the LORD your God; and you shall eat the flesh.


If it have any blemish, [as if it be] lame or blind, any ill blemish whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD your God.


You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a blemish, [or] anything evil; for that is an abomination to the LORD your God.


For such a Kohen Gadol was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;


how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
