The king of Egypt didn't come again out of his land any more; for the king of Bavel had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Perat, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.


They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Kush their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.


Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with She'ol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.


Now what have you to do in the way to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shichor? or what have you to do in the way to Ashur, to drink the waters of the River?


Why go you about so much to change your way? you shall be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Ashur.


From there also shall you go forth, with your hands on your head: for the LORD has rejected those in whom you trust, and you shall not prosper with them.


The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
