Elisha said to the king of Yisra'el, What have I to do with you? get you to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother. The king of Yisra'el said to him, No; for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Mo'av.


But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him; and [the king] sent a man from before him: but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See you how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door fast against him: isn't the sound of his master's feet behind him?


While he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; why should I wait for the LORD any longer?


After all that is come on us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, seeing that you our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such a remnant,


that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.


That you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?


Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.


The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against the LORD.


Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of the LORD, the rebuke of your God.


Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is [my] grief, and I must bear it.


Why cry you for your hurt? your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.


[It is of] the LORD's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail.


I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;


The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.


I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my case, and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light. I will see his righteousness.


Moshe said to the LORD, Why have you dealt ill with your servant? and why haven't I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?


But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el murmured against Moshe and against Aharon, saying, You have killed the people of the LORD.


The children of Yisra'el spoke to Moshe, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone.


People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn't repent and give him glory.
