All the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes, all these he brought to Bavel.


On that day they read in the book of Moshe in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that an `Ammonite and a Mo'avite should not enter into the assembly of God forever,


Your holy people possessed [it] but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.


Your substance and your treasures will I give for a spoil without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.


Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all the gains of it, and all the precious things of it, yes, all the treasures of the kings of Yehudah will I give into the hand of their enemies; and they shall make them a prey, and take them, and carry them to Bavel.


For thus says the LORD of Armies concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,


yes, thus says the LORD of Armies, the God of Yisra'el, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Yehudah, and at Yerushalayim:


The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Bavel, to declare in Tziyon the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.


We are confounded, because we have heard reproach; confusion has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house.


and he burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Yerushalayim, even every great house, burned he with fire.


Yerushalayim remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that were from the days of old: when her people fell into the hand of the adversary, and none did help her, The adversaries saw her, they did mock at her desolations.


in that you have brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to profane it, even my house, when you offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant, [to add] to all your abominations.


My face will I turn also from them, and they shall profane my secret [place]; and robbers shall enter into it, and profane it.


He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go you forth. They went forth, and struck in the city.


But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniyel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Yehudah flee to the mountains,


An `Ammonite or a Mo'avite shall not enter into the assembly of the LORD; even to the tenth generation shall none belonging to them enter into the assembly of the LORD forever:


because they didn't meet you with bread and with water in the way, when you came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Bil`am the son of Be'or from Petor of Aram-Naharayim, to curse you.
