Praise the LORD, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits;


The LORD is in his holy temple. The LORD is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.


He answered them, *I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.*


Yehoshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of the LORD which he spoke to us: it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God.


It shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the Kohanim who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Yarden, that the waters of the Yarden shall be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap.


Then Yehoshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Yisra'el, out of every tribe a man:


The children of Yisra'el did so as Yehoshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Yarden, as the LORD spoke to Yehoshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yisra'el; and they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.


Then Shemu'el took a stone, and set it between Mitzpah and Shen, and called the name of it Even-Ha`ezer, saying, Hitherto has the LORD helped us.
