For it happened, when Shlomo was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.


Therefore the LORD was very angry with Yisra'el, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Yehudah only.


The LORD rejected all the seed of Yisra'el, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.


The king of Bavel struck them, and put them to death at Rivlah in the land of Chamat. So Yehudah was carried away captive out of his land.


All the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces, arose, and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Kasdim.


Let their table before them become a snare. May it become a retribution and a trap.


Par`oh's servants said to him, *How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD, their God. Don't you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?*


They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.*


Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:


and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.


There shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Yisra'el, nor a hurting thorn of any that are round about them, that did despite to them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.


But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those who you let remain of them be as pricks in your eyes, and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land in which you dwell.


They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Yerushalayim will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.


and the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.


I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land, where you pass over the Yarden to go in to possess it.


I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you go over the Yarden to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed.


You shall consume all the peoples who the LORD your God shall deliver to you; your eye shall not pity them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you.


and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.


I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations that Yehoshua left when he died;
