These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Yoshev-Bashevet a Tachkemonite, chief of the captains; the same was `Adino the Etznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.


They were helped against them, and the Hagrim were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.


For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.


The LORD of Armies is with us. The God of Ya`akov is our refuge. Selah.


The LORD will fight for you, and you shall be still.*


One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.


You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.


Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.


In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. He who is feeble among them at that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.


What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?


and shall tell them, Hear, Yisra'el, you draw near this day to battle against your enemies: don't let your heart faint; don't be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;


for the LORD your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.


The LORD will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you: they shall come out against you one way, and shall flee before you seven ways.


You shall not fear them; for the LORD your God, he it is who fights for you.


He said, I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.


How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had delivered them up?


All these kings and their land did Yehoshua take at one time, because the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, fought for Yisra'el.


Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God.


and you have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God, he it is that has fought for you.
