We said to him, 'We are honest men. We are no spies.


But the princes of the children of `Ammon said to Chanun their lord, Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Hasn't David sent his servants to you to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?


Avshalom's servants came to the woman to the house; and they said, Where are Achima`atz and Yonatan? The woman said to them, They have gone over the brook of water. When they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Yerushalayim.

*Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

The woman took the two men, and hid them; and she said, Yes, the men came to me, but I didn't know whence they were:


He said to her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man does come and inquire of you, and say, Is there any man here? that you shall say, No.
