Aviner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish-Boshet the son of Sha'ul, went out from Machanayim to Giv`on.


[Ish-Boshet], Sha'ul's son, [had] two men who were captains of bands: the name of the one was Ba`anah, and the name of the other Rechav, the sons of Rimmon the Be'erotite, of the children of Binyamin (for Be'erot also is reckoned to Binyamin:


Ba`sha king of Yisra'el went up against Yehudah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Yehudah.


that the LORD appeared to Shlomo the second time, as he had appeared to him at Giv`on.


In Giv`on there lived the father of Giv`on, [Ye`i'el], whose wife's name was Ma`akhah;


The children of Ramah and Geva, six hundred twenty-one.


They have gone over the pass. They have taken up their lodging at Geva. Ramah trembles. Gevah of Sha'ul has fled.


For the LORD will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Giv`on; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.


Thus says the LORD: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.


When evening had come, a rich man from Ramatayim, named Yosef, who himself was also Yeshua's talmid came.


that they feared greatly, because Giv`on was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than `Ai, and all the men of it were mighty.


and Zanoach, and `En-Gannim, Tappuach, and `Enam,


and Khefar-Ha`ammoni, and `Ofni 1, and Geva; twelve cities with their villages:


and Mitzpeh, and Kefirah, and Motzah,


and the border turned to Ramah, and to the fortified city of Tzor; and the border turned to Chosah; and the goings out of it were at the sea by the region of Akhziv;


Out of the tribe of Binyamin, Giv`on with its suburbs, Geva with its suburbs,


and he brought near the family of Yehudah; and he took the family of the Zarchi: and he brought near the family of the Zarchi man by man; and Zavdi was taken:


The children of Yisra'el traveled, and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Giv`on, and Kefirah, and Be'erot, and Kiryat-Ye`arim.


But when the inhabitants of Giv`on heard what Yehoshua had done to Yericho and to `Ai,


His master said to him, We won't turn aside into the city of a foreigner, that is not of the children of Yisra'el; but we will pass over to Gevah.


He said to his servant, Come and let us draw near to one of these places; and we will lodge in Gevah, or in Ramah.


Now there was a certain man of Ramatayim-Tzofim, of the hill country of Efrayim, and his name was Elkana, the son of Yerocham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tochu, the son of Tzuf, an Efratite:


They rose up in the morning early, and worshiped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkana knew Channah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.
