God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas. God saw that it was good.


One who had escaped came and told Avram, the Hebrew. Now he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amori, brother of Eshkol, and brother of `Aner; and these were allies of Avram.


The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, 'I will give this land to your seed.' He will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.


she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, *Behold, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.


So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn't fear the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which killed some of them.

Who wouldn't fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you only are holy. For all the nations will come and worship before you. For your righteous acts have been revealed.*


and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They didn't repent of their works.
