Salma the father of Beit-Lechem, Charef the father of Beit-Gader.


The LORD has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: *I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.


'I will establish your seed forever, and build up your throne to all generations.'* Selah.


A shoot will come out of the stock of Yishai, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.


Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.


But you, Beit-Lechem Efratah, being small among the clans of Yehudah, out of you one will come forth to me that is to be ruler in Yisra'el; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.


The book of the generation of Yeshua the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Avraham.


They said to him, *In Beit-Lechem of Yehudah, for thus it is written through the prophet,


'You Beit-Lechem, land of Yehudah, are in no way least among the princes of Yehudah: for out of you shall come forth a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Yisra'el.'*


For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord.


Yosef also went up from the Galil, out of the city of Natzeret, into Yehudah, to the city of David, which is called Beit-Lechem, because he was of the house and family of David;


However we know where this man comes from, but when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he comes from.*


The LORD said to Shemu'el, How long will you mourn for Sha'ul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Yisra'el? fill your horn with oil, and go: I will send you to Yishai the Beit-Hallachmite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.


Then answered one of the young men, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Yishai the Beit-Hallachmite, who is skillful in playing, and a mighty man of valor, and a man of war, and prudent in speech, and a comely person; and the LORD is with him.


Shemu'el did that which the LORD spoke, and came to Beit-Lechem. The elders of the city came to meet him trembling, and said, Come you peaceably?


Sha'ul said to him, Whose son are you, you young man? David answered, I am the son of your servant Yishai the Beit-Hallachmite.
