The LORD said to him, I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me: I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.


David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and shalom offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.


Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Yisra'el.


but I have chosen Yerushalayim, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Yisra'el.


The LORD appeared to Shlomo by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.


For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.


For the LORD has chosen Tziyon. He has desired it for his habitation.


But chose the tribe of Yehudah, Mount Tziyon which he loved.


Thus says the LORD, heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will you build to me? and what place shall be my rest?


They didn't receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Yerushalayim.


Are you greater than our father, Ya`akov, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?*


It shall happen, when the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount `Eval.


These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you are passed over the Yarden: Shim`on, and Levi, and Yehudah, and Yissakhar, and Yosef, and Binyamin.
