Then the chief Kohanim, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the Kohen Gadol, who was called Kayafa.


But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whoever shall say to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing!' shall be in danger of the council; and whoever shall say, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of the fire of Gehinnom.


It was now two days before the feast of the Pesach and the matzah, and the chief Kohanim and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.


The chief Kohanim and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.


Now the chief Kohanim and the Perushim had commanded that if anyone knew where he was, he should report it, that they might seize him.


The Perushim therefore said among themselves, *See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.*


This beginning of his signs Yeshua did in Kanah of the Galil, and revealed his glory; and his talmidim believed in him.


A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.


The Perushim heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief Kohanim and the Perushim sent officers to arrest him.


The officers therefore came to the chief Kohanim and Perushim, and they said to them, *Why didn't you bring him?*


When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the Kohen Gadol came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Yisra'el, and sent to the prison to have them brought.


Now when the Kohen Gadol, the captain of the temple, and the chief Kohanim heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.
