Therefore he brought on them the king of the Kasdim, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or gray-headed: he gave them all into his hand.


Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;


I have winnowed them with a fan in the gates of the land; I have bereaved [them] of children, I have destroyed my people; they didn't return from their ways.


Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword; and let their wives become childless, and widows; and let their men be slain of death, [and] their young men struck of the sword in battle.


Therefore now thus says the LORD, the God Tzeva'ot, the God of Yisra'el: Why commit you [this] great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Yehudah, to leave you none remaining;


Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all her men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, says the LORD.


Therefore I am full of the wrath of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.


Therefore thus says the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.


The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.


and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the army of the sky, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried, they shall be for dung on the surface of the earth.


They rush on the city. They run on the wall. They climb up into the houses. They enter in at the windows like thieves.


*The virgin of Yisra'el has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.*


It will happen, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.


I will bring distress on men, that they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD, and their blood will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.
