Blessed be the LORD from Tziyon, Who dwells at Yerushalayim. Praise the LORD!


By the rivers of Bavel, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Tziyon.


The LORD will reign forever; your God, O Tziyon, to all generations. Praise the LORD!


Let Yisra'el rejoice in him who made them. Let the children of Tziyon be joyful in their King.


I hate those who regard lying vanities, but I trust in the LORD.


Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Yisra'el. They are estranged and backward.


Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Tziyon; for the Holy One of Yisra'el is great in the midst of you!*


They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.


For the LORD is our judge. The LORD is our lawgiver. The LORD is our king. He will save us.


Then Yeshaiyahu the prophet came to king Chizkiyahu, and asked him, *What did these men say? Where did they come from to you?* Chizkiyahu said, *They have come from a country far from me, even from Bavel.*


Awake, awake, put on your strength, Tziyon; put on your beautiful garments, Yerushalayim, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.


They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.


Have you utterly rejected Yehudah? has your soul loathed Tziyon? why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for shalom, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!


Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can't save? yet you, LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; don't leave us.


thus says the LORD, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?


for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.


For there shall be a day, that the watchmen on the hills of Efrayim shall cry, Arise you, and let us go up to Tziyon to the LORD our God.


For the children of Yisra'el and the children of Yehudah have done only that which was evil in my sight from their youth; for the children of Yisra'el have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says the LORD.


Do they provoke me to anger? says the LORD; [do they] not [provoke] themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?


The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.


I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.


It shall be eighteen thousand [reeds] round about: and the name of the city from that day shall be, the LORD is there.


It will happen that whoever will call on the name of the LORD shall be saved; for in Mount Tziyon and in Yerushalayim there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the remnant, those whom the LORD calls.


I will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwells in Tziyon.*


But in Mount Tziyon, there will be those who escape, and it will be holy. The house of Ya`akov will possess their possessions.


Now why do you cry out aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pains have taken hold of you as of a woman in travail?


The LORD has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Yisra'el, the LORD, is in the midst of you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.


For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a spoil to those who served them; and you will know that the LORD of Armies has sent me.


*Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;


Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, Haven't these evils come on us because our God is not among us?
