For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut through bars of iron.


For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you.


Valiant men lie plundered, they have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands.


In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of Armies, which he shakes over them.


Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.


Keriyot is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Mo'av at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.


Shout against her round about: she has submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.


and the passages are seized, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are frightened.

Behold, your troops in your midst are women. The gates of your land are set wide open to your enemies. The fire has devoured your bars.


standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Bavel, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.'
