Those who come after shall be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.


Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.


The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.


The watchman said, *The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again.*


The LORD's sword is filled with blood. It is covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for the LORD has a sacrifice in Botzrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.


The wild oxen will come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land will be drunken with blood, and their dust made greasy with fat.


But you, LORD, know me; you see me, and try my heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.


Wail, you shepherds, and cry; and wallow [in ashes], you principal of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fully come, and you shall fall like a goodly vessel.


All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondservant.


Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they didn't stand: for the day of their calamity is come on them, the time of their visitation.


Cursed be he who does the work of the LORD negligently; and cursed be he who keeps back his sword from blood.


Mo'av is laid waste, and they are gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, says the King, whose name is the LORD of Armies.


He who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him, even on Mo'av, the year of their visitation, says the LORD.


Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out [the grain], and neigh as strong horses;


Behold, I am against you, you proud one, says the Lord, the LORD of Armies; for your day is come, the time that I will visit you.
