These are the names of the sons of Yishma'el, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Yishma'el, Nevayot, then Kedar, Adbe'el, Mivsam,


but to the sons of Avraham's concubines, Avraham gave gifts. He sent them away from Yitzchak his son, while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country.


These are their generations: the firstborn of Yishma'el, Nevayot; then Kedar, and Adbe'el, and Mivsam,


His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east.


Woe is me, that I live in Meshekh, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!


I am dark, but lovely, you daughters of Yerushalayim, like Kedar's tents, like Shlomo's curtains.
