But it happened in the seventh month, that Yishma'el the son of Netanyah, the son of Elishama, of the royal seed came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedalyahu, so that he died, and the Jews and the Kasdim that were with him at Mitzpah.


that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, That they are led forth to the day of wrath?


A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death; no one will support him.


So all the people who Yishma'el had carried away captive from Mitzpah turned about and came back, and went to Yochanan the son of Kareach.


Then arose Yishma'el the son of Netanyah, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedalyahu the son of Achikam the son of Shafan with the sword, and killed him, whom the king of Bavel had made governor over the land.


When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said one to another, *No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped from the sea, yet Justice has not allowed to live.*


David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day: and there not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who rode on camels and fled.
