When he was come to the king, the king said to him, Mikhayahu, shall we go to Ramot Gil`ad to battle, or shall we forbear? He answered him, Go up and prosper; and the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.


The king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?


They killed the sons of Tzidkiyahu before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Tzidkiyahu, and bound him in fetters, and carried him to Bavel.


The LORD said, Most certainly I will strengthen you for good; most certainly I will cause the enemy to make supplication to you in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.


Afterward, says the LORD, I will deliver Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah, and his servants, and the people, even such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.


As the bad figs, which can't be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says the LORD, So will I give up Tzidkiyahu the king of Yehudah, and his princes, and the residue of Yerushalayim, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt,


The shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.


Tzidkiyahu the king sent Yehukhal the son of Shelemyahu, and Tzefanyah the son of Ma`aseyah, the Kohen, to the prophet Yirmeyahu, saying, Pray now to the LORD our God for us.


Tzidkiyahu the king said, Behold, he is in your hand; for the king is not he who can do anything against you.


But the army of the Kasdim pursued after the king, and overtook Tzidkiyahu in the plains of Yericho; and all his army was scattered from him.


Mischief shall come on mischief, and rumor shall be on rumor; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the Kohen, and counsel from the elders.


He came to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt offering, and the princes of Mo'av with him. Balak said to him, What has the LORD spoken?


for Herod feared Yochanan, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.
