and say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in shalom.


The king of Yisra'el said to Yehoshafat, there is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD, Mikhayahu the son of Yimlah: but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. Yehoshafat said, *Don't let the king say so.*


seeing you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?


They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.


Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded.


There are many plans in a man's heart, but the LORD's counsel will prevail.


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.


He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.


and say, *How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;


Take a scroll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken to you against Yisra'el, and against Yehudah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Yoshiyahu, even to this day.


Then the word of the LORD came to Yirmeyahu, after that the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Barukh wrote at the mouth of Yirmeyahu, saying,


Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Yehoiakim the king of Yehudah has burned.


If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.
