There was found at Achmeta, in the palace that is in the province of Madai, a scroll, and therein was thus written for a record:


oh that I had one to hear me! (behold, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me); let the accuser write my indictment!


Then I said, *Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Yehoshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of `Amalek from under the sky.*


The LORD said to me, *Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man's pen, 'For Maher-Shalal-Chash-Baz; '


behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.


Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.


Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and the LORD said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth:


Hear you the word of the LORD, O house of Ya`akov, and all the families of the house of Yisra'el:


From the thirteenth year of Yoshiyahu the son of Amon, king of Yehudah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.


Thus speaks the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, saying, Write you all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.


Therefore all the princes sent Yehudi the son of Netanyah, the son of Shelemyahu, the son of Kushi, to Barukh, saying, Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Barukh the son of Neriyah 1 took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.


Then Barukh answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.


It happened, when Yehudi had read three or four leaves, that [the king] cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.


Concerning Yehoiakim king of Yehudah you shall say, Thus says the LORD: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Bavel shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?


therefore go you, and read in the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Yehudah who come out of their cities.


The message that Yirmeyahu the prophet spoke to Barukh the son of Neriyah 1, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Yirmeyahu, in the fourth year of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, saying,


Yirmeyahu wrote in a book all the evil that should come on Bavel, even all these words that are written concerning Bavel.


When I looked, behold, a hand was put forth to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein;


I wrote for him the many things of my law; but they were regarded as a strange thing.


It happened, when Moshe had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,


Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.'*
