*Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.


The LORD has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.


Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.


LORD, I know that your judgments are righteous, that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.


My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.


Don't be like the horse, or like the mule, which have no understanding, who are controlled by bit and bridle, or else they will not come near to you.


Turn us again, LORD God Tzeva'ot. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.

Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought the LORD of Armies.


Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise.

For there shall be a day, that the watchmen on the hills of Efrayim shall cry, Arise you, and let us go up to Tziyon to the LORD our God.


They shall come with weeping; and with petitions will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Yisra'el, and Efrayim is my firstborn.


O LORD, don't your eyes look on truth? you have stricken them, but they were not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


Turn you us to you, LORD, and we shall be turned; Renew our days as of old.


There shall you remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.


As it is written in the Torah of Moshe, all this evil is come on us: yet have we not entreated the favor of the LORD our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in your truth.


Efrayim is a trained heifer that loves to thresh; so I will put a yoke on her beautiful neck. I will set a rider on Efrayim. Yehudah will plow. Ya`akov will break his clods.


For Yisra'el has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow.


I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.*


God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn't do it.


She didn't obey the voice. She didn't receive correction. She didn't trust in the LORD. She didn't draw near to her God.


Then those who feared the LORD spoke one with another; and the LORD listened, and heard, and a book of memory was written before him, for those who feared the LORD, and who honored his name.


He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.*


*On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Efrayim according to their divisions: and the prince of the children of Efrayim shall be Elishama the son of `Ammihud.


He will go before him in the spirit and power of Eliyahu, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.*


*He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.


God, having raised up his servant, Yeshua, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness.*


For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.


and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, *My son, don't take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;


As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
