If you afflict my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, no man is with us; behold, God is witness between me and you.*


The sons of Ya`akov came in from the field when they heard it. The men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had done folly in Yisra'el in lying with Ya`akov's daughter; a which thing ought not to be done.


She answered him, No, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Yisra'el. Don't you do this folly.


For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD. He examines all his paths.


I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries, and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Yerushalayim! you will not be made clean; how long shall it yet be?


For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.


In the prophets of Yerushalayim also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none does return from his wickedness: they are all of them become to me as Sedom, and the inhabitants of it as `Amorah.


Thus says the LORD of Armies, Don't listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.


I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I didn't speak to them, yet they prophesied.


Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I didn't send them, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, says the LORD.


Thus says the LORD of Armies, the God of Yisra'el, concerning Ach'av the son of Kolayah, and concerning Tzidkiyahu the son of Ma`aseyah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel; and he shall kill them before your eyes;


Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus says the LORD concerning Shemayah the Nechelami: Because Shemayah has prophesied to you, and I didn't send him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie;


They were as fed horses roaming at large; everyone neighed after his neighbor's wife.


Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says the LORD.


You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it.


Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her Kohanim have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.


Yet you say, 'Why?' Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.


I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don't fear me,* says the LORD of Armies.


There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.


and from Yeshua the Messiah, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood;
