Jeremiah 22:26
16 Tagairtí Cros

He carried away Yehoiakim to Bavel; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Yerushalayim to Bavel.

Yehoiakim was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Yerushalayim three months: and his mother's name was Nechushta 1 the daughter of Elnatan of Yerushalayim.

It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Yehoiakim king of Yehudah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-Merodakh king of Bavel, in the year that he began to reign, did lift up the head of Yehoiakim king of Yehudah out of prison;

and changed his prison garments. [Yehoiakim] ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:

and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him of the king, every day a portion, all the days of his life.

Behold, the LORD will overcome you and hurl you away violently. Yes, he will grasp you firmly.

For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel [it].

Say you to the king and to the queen mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headdresses are come down, even the crown of your glory.

therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there shall you serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor.

But to the land whereunto their soul longs to return, there shall they not return.

and I will bring again to this place Yekhonyah the son of Yehoiakim, king of Yehudah, with all the captives of Yehudah, who went to Bavel, says the LORD; for I will break the yoke of the king of Bavel.

(after that Yekhonyah the king, and the queen mother, and the eunuchs, [and] the princes of Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and the craftsmen, and the smiths, were departed from Yerushalayim),

so that none of the remnant of Yehudah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or be left, to return into the land of Yehudah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.
