'I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.


He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.


Why have we fasted, [say they], and you don't see? [why] have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find [your own] pleasure, and exact all your labors.


It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?


How can you say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Ba`alim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: [you are] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;


Why will you contend with me? you all have transgressed against me, says the LORD.


Therefore I will yet contend with you, says the LORD, and with your children's children will I contend.


A noise shall come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations; he will enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword, says the LORD.


I will spread my net on him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Bavel, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.


I was alive apart from the law once, but when the mitzvah came, sin revived, and I died.
