For the LORD of Armies, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Yisra'el and of the house of Yehudah, which they have worked for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense to Ba`al.


If you say in your heart, Why are these things come on me? for the greatness of your iniquity are your skirts uncovered, and your heels suffer violence.


How can you say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Ba`alim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: [you are] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;


Yet you said, I am innocent; surely his anger is turned away from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with you, because you say, I have not sinned.


because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, [and] to serve other gods, that they didn't know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.


It shall happen, when you shall say, Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us? then shall you say to them, Like as you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.


I will make Yerushalayim heaps, a dwelling place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Yehudah a desolation, without inhabitant.


Efrayim said, *Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won't find in me any iniquity that is sin.*
