The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.


and he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear you me, Asa, and all Yehudah and Binyamin: the LORD is with you, while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.


But when in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, and sought him, he was found of them.


So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Yisra'el and Yehudah, and according to the mitzvah of the king, saying, You children of Yisra'el, turn again to the LORD, the God of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yisra'el, that he may return to the remnant that have escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Ashur.


He prayed to him; and he was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Yerushalayim into his kingdom. Then Menasheh knew that the LORD he was God.


if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.


If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.


But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared.


Yisra'el, hope in the LORD, for with the LORD there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption.


If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn't have listened.


He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.


If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;


For the LORD will have compassion on Ya`akov, and will yet choose Yisra'el, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Ya`akov.


The watchman said, *The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again.*


Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Yisra'el.


The ways of the scoundrel are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the humble with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.


*Speak comfortably to Yerushalayim; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.*


I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.


I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you.


For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of shalom be removed, says the LORD who has mercy on you.


In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting loving kindness will I have mercy on you, says the LORD your Redeemer.


Isn't this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?


Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths.


Return, backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am a husband to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Tziyon:


Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; yet you have a prostitute's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.


Yerushalayim, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?


Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.


Therefore tell the house of Yisra'el, Thus says the Lord GOD: Return you, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.


Tell them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Yisra'el?


Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of your tranquillity.


God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn't do it.


and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate,* says the LORD.


But you go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.*


For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,


All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.*


Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.*


for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.' They began to celebrate.


Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.*


but declared first to them of Damascus, at Yerushalayim, and throughout all the country of Yehudah, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.


*Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,


Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.
