The daughter of Tziyon is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.


For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness. The calf will feed there, and there he will lie down, and consume its branches.


But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Ya`akov, and will stand in awe of the God of Yisra'el.


Her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate and sit on the ground.


Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.


Shake yourself from the dust; arise, sit [on your throne], Yerushalayim: loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, captive daughter of Tziyon.


Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.


Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?


You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Cheftzi-Bah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.


Your holy cities are become a wilderness, Tziyon is become a wilderness, Yerushalayim a desolation.


They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Yerushalayim will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.


For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?


If you are Messiah's, then you are Avraham's seed and heirs according to promise.
