I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.*


The scepter will not depart from Yehudah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.


But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does.


Whatever the LORD pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;


The counsel of the LORD stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.


There are many plans in a man's heart, but the LORD's counsel will prevail.


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.


Therefore it will happen that, when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Tziyon and on Yerushalayim, I will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Ashur, and the insolence of his haughty looks.


The LORD of Armies has sworn, saying, *Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:


The LORD, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth.


The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.*

Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last, I am he.*

Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.


Declare you, and bring [it] forth; yes, let them take counsel together: who has shown this from ancient time? who has declared it of old? Haven't I, the LORD? and there is no God else besides me, a just God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.

Assemble yourselves, all you, and hear; who among them has declared these things? He whom the LORD loves shall perform his pleasure on Bavel, and his arm [shall be on] the Kasdim.


I have declared the former things from of old; yes, they went forth out of my mouth, and I shown them: suddenly I did them, and they happened.


Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.


so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.


Those who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Yehudah, few in number; and all the remnant of Yehudah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs.


Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord GOD; this is the day about which I have spoken.


All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or tell him, What do you?


Efrayim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Yisra'el, I have made known that which will surely be.


All his works are known to God from eternity.'


It will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.'

In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;
