Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said, *It is a people that errs in their heart. They have not known my ways.*


The LORD said to Moshe, *Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight;


Aharon shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.


My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.


Therefore the Lord, the LORD of Armies, the Mighty One of Yisra'el, says: *Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself of my enemies;


But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] himself fought against them.


He said, *Listen now, house of David: Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?


so that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.


To what purpose comes there to me frankincense from Sheva, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.


Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring your way on your head, says the Lord GOD: and you shall not commit this lewdness with all your abominations.


Those of you that escape shall remember me among the nations where they shall be carried captive, how that I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.


The Kohen shall burn them on the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor; all the fat is the LORD's.


All its fat he shall take away, like the fat is taken away from off of the sacrifice of shalom offerings; and the Kohen shall burn it on the altar for a sweet savor to the LORD; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.


Behold, I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain.


*But the deceiver is cursed, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King,* says the LORD of Armies, *and my name is awesome among the nations.*
