Come, let's go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.*


Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Ashur, He shall not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.


Moshe said to the people, *Don't be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again.


But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language;


By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come to this city,' says the LORD.


So Sancheriv king of Ashur departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.


Behold, I will bring a nation on you from far, house of Yisra'el, says the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you don't know, neither understand what they say.


In the law it is written, *By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. Not even thus will they hear me, says the Lord.*
