When the mourning was past, David sent and took her home to his house, and she became his wife, and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.


The children of Yisra'el did secretly things that were not right against the LORD their God: and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;


There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.


Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, *For,* they say, *who hears us?*


They say, *How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Elyon?*


They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.


*Because you have said, 'We have made a covenant with death, and with She'ol are we in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won't come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.'*


I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.


*Woe to the rebellious children,* says the LORD, *who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin,


For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, None sees me; your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you, and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.


I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.


Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says the LORD. Don't I fill heaven and earth? says the LORD.


Then said he to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Yisra'el do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, the LORD doesn't see us; the LORD has forsaken the land.


Then said he to me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold, a door.


Then said he to me, The iniquity of the house of Yisra'el and Yehudah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wrestling [of judgment]: for they say, the LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD doesn't see.


The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I discipline all of them.


It will happen at that time, that I will search Yerushalayim with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in their heart, *The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.*


You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, 'How have we wearied him?' In that you say, 'Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them;' or 'Where is the God of justice?'


This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.


Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.


But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.


I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.
