The sons of Yavan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.


For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Chiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.


Yehoshafat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ofir 1 for gold: but they didn't go; for the ships were broken at `Etzyon-Gever.


Chiram king of Tzor sent his servants to Shlomo; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Chiram was ever a lover of David.


For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Churam; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.


With the east wind, you break the ships of Tarshish.


For the cry has gone around the borders of Mo'av; its wailing to Eglayim, and its wailing to Be'er Elim.


For all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.


He said, *You shall rejoice no more, you oppressed virgin daughter of Tzidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim. Even there you will have no rest.*


Pass over to Tarshish! Wail, you inhabitants of the coast!


The confused city is broken down. Every house is shut up, that no man may come in.


Surely the islands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Yisra'el, because he has glorified you.


For pass over to the islands of Kittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently; and see if there has been such a thing.


For thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to me: take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.


and all the kings of Tzor, and all the kings of Tzidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;


because of the day that comes to destroy all the Pelishtim, to cut off from Tzor and Tzidon every helper who remains: for the LORD will destroy the Pelishtim, the remnant of the isle of Kaftor.


It happened in the eleventh year, in the first [day] of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,


Son of man, because Tzor has said against Yerushalayim, Aha, she is broken: the gate of the peoples; she is turned to me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:


and shall cause their voice to be heard over you, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust on their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:


Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the islands of Kittim.


For ships of Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do [his pleasure]: he shall even return, and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.


But Yonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Yafo, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid its fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.


But ships [shall come] from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Ashur, and shall afflict `Ever. He also shall come to destruction.


*Woe to you, Kora'zin! Woe to you, Beit-Tzaidah! For if the mighty works had been done in Tzor and Tzidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.


and the border turned to Ramah, and to the fortified city of Tzor; and the border turned to Chosah; and the goings out of it were at the sea by the region of Akhziv;
