Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.*


It happened in the course of those many days, that the king of Egypt died, and the children of Yisra'el sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.


The LORD said, *I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.


I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,* says the Lord, the LORD of Armies.


so the king of Ashur will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Kush, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.


The angel of the LORD went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Ashur. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.


I myself am the LORD; and besides me there is no savior.
