Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers. Let your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you. Blessed be everyone who blesses you.*


She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, *This time will I praise the LORD.* Therefore she named him Yehudah. Then she stopped bearing.


Yosef was the governor over the land. It was he who sold to all the people of the land. Yosef's brothers came, and bowed themselves down to him with their faces to the earth.


The sons of Yehudah: `Er, Onan, Shelach, Peretz, and Zerach; but `Er and Onan died in the land of Kena`an. The sons of Peretz were Chetzron and Chamul.


You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.


Yo'av gave up the sum of the numbering of the people to the king: and there were in Yisra'el eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword; and the men of Yehudah were five hundred thousand men.


So all the elders of Yisra'el came to the king to Chevron; and king David made a covenant with them in Chevron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Yisra'el.


However the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Yisra'el forever: for he has chosen Yehudah to be prince; and in the house of Yehudah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Yisra'el;


For Yehudah prevailed above his brothers, and of him came the prince; but the birthright was Yosef's:)


Asa had an army that bore bucklers and spears, out of Yehudah three hundred thousand; and out of Binyamin, that bore shields and drew bows, two hundred eighty thousand: all these were mighty men of valor.


He gathered all Yehudah and Binyamin, and those who sojourned with them out of Efrayim and Menasheh, and out of Shim`on: for they fell to him out of Yisra'el in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.


He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Yehudah, and set garrisons in the land of Yehudah, and in the cities of Efrayim, which Asa his father had taken.


Nevertheless certain men of Asher and Menasheh and of Zevulun humbled themselves, and came to Yerushalayim.


Of the increase of his government and of shalom there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will perform this.


while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day is come in the time of the iniquity of the end.


those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Yehudah, were sixty-four thousand six hundred.


In the first [place] the standard of the camp of the children of Yehudah set forward according to their armies: and over his army was Nachshon the son of `Amminadav.


The sons of Yehudah after their families were: of Shelach, the family of the Shelani; of Peretz, the family of the Partzi; of Zerach, the family of the Zarchi.


These are the families of Yehudah according to those who were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.


This is [the blessing] of Yehudah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Yehudah. Bring him in to his people. With his hands he contended for himself. You shall be a help against his adversaries.


from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.


For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Yehudah, about which tribe Moshe spoke nothing concerning priesthood.


It happened, when they brought forth those kings to Yehoshua, that Yehoshua called for all the men of Yisra'el, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings. They came near, and put their feet on the necks of them.


This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Yehudah according to their families.


The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, *The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Messiah. He will reign forever and ever!*


One of the elders said to me, *Don't weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Yehudah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals.*


The children of Yisra'el arose, and went up to Beit-El, and asked counsel of God; and they said, Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Binyamin? the LORD said, Yehudah [shall go up] first.
