The chief cupbearer told his dream to Yosef, and said to him, *In my dream, behold, a vine was in front of me,


Yosef said to Par`oh, *The dream of Par`oh is one. What God is about to do he has declared to Par`oh.


*If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;


The friendship of the LORD is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.


When they tell you, *Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:* shouldn't a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?


It is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other who can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.


Daniyel answered before the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, show to the king;


but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to the king Nevukhadnetzar 1 what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head on your bed, are these:


The king said to them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.


The king answered to Daniyel, and said, Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you have been able to reveal this secret.


But at the last Daniyel came in before me, whose name was Belteshatzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and I told the dream before him, [saying],


But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations, and dissolve doubts; now if you can read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation of it, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.


Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.
