The sons of Yehudah: `Er, Onan, Shelach, Peretz, and Zerach; but `Er and Onan died in the land of Kena`an. The sons of Peretz were Chetzron and Chamul.


When the mourning was past, David sent and took her home to his house, and she became his wife, and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.


He cried to the LORD, and said, LORD my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?


The sons of Yehudah: `Er, and Onan, and Shelach; which three were born to him of Shu`a's daughter the Kena`anite. `Er, Yehudah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and he killed him.


God was displeased with this thing; therefore he struck Yisra'el.


The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.


lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.


However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, don't do this abominable thing that I hate.


Then Chaggai, the LORD's messenger, spoke in the LORD's message to the people, saying, *I am with you,* says the LORD.


The people were as murmurers, [speaking] evil in the ears of the LORD: and when the LORD heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.


Bil`am said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I didn't know that you stood in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again.


The sons of Yehudah: `Er and Onan; and `Er and Onan died in the land of Kena`an.


If one man sin against another, God shall judge him; but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they didn't listen to the voice of their father, because the LORD was minded to kill them.
