Terach took Avram his son, Lot the son of Charan, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Avram's wife. They went forth from Ur of the Kasdim, to go into the land of Kena`an. They came to Charan and lived there.


Avram said to the king of Sedom, *I have lifted up my hand to the LORD, El `Elyon, possessor of heaven and earth,


Sarai said to Avram, *This wrong is your fault. I gave my handmaid into your bosom, and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes. The LORD judge between me and you.*


I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you.


Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, *I am the LORD, the God of Avraham your father, and the God of Yitzchak. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.


Unless the God of my father, the God of Avraham, and the fear of Yitzchak, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.*


May this heap be a witness, and the pillar be a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.


He said, *Swear to me,* and he swore to him. Yisra'el bowed himself on the bed's head.


Moreover he said, *I am the God of your father, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov.* Moshe hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.


and they said to them, *May the LORD look at you, and judge, because you have made us a stench to be abhorred in the eyes of Par`oh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.*


You shall fear the LORD your God; and him shall you serve, and shall swear by his name.


Yehoshua said to all the people, Thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terach, the father of Avraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.


I therefore have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong to war against me: the LORD, the Judge, be judge this day between the children of Yisra'el and the children of `Ammon.


As touching the matter which you and I have spoken of, behold, the LORD is between you and me forever.


The LORD judge between me and you, and the LORD avenge me of you; but my hand shall not be on you.
