Sarai said to Avram, *See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing. Please go in to my handmaid. It may be that I will obtain children by her.* Avram listened to the voice of Sarai.


For the LORD had closed up tight all the wombs of the house of Avimelekh, because of Sarah, Avraham's wife.


Yitzchak entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. The LORD was entreated by him, and Rivka his wife conceived.


The LORD saw that Le'ah was hated, and he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.


Ya`akov was angry, and argued with Lavan. Ya`akov answered Lavan, *What is my trespass? What is my sin, that you have hotly pursued after me?


Yosef said to them, *Don't be afraid, for am I in the place of God?


It happened, when the king of Yisra'el had read the letter, that he tore his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send to me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.


He settles the barren woman in her home, as a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!


Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward.


It happened, as soon as he came near to the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moshe' anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.


But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whoever shall say to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing!' shall be in danger of the council; and whoever shall say, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of the fire of Gehinnom.

*Be angry, and don't sin.* Don't let the sun go down on your wrath,


but to Channah he gave a double portion; for he loved Channah, but the LORD had shut up her womb.
