These are the sons of Cham, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, in their nations.


To `Ever were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Yoktan.


These are the families of the sons of Noach, after their generations, in their nations. Of these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.


The sons of Yavan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.


The sons of Cham: Kush, Mitzrayim, Put, and Kena`an.


These three were the sons of Noach, and from these, the whole earth was populated.


King Achashverosh laid a tribute on the land, and on the islands of the sea.


The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheva and Seva shall offer gifts.


It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Ashur, from Egypt, from Patros, from Kush, from `Elam, from Shin`ar, from Chamat, and from the islands of the sea.


Therefore glorify the LORD in the east, even the name of the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, in the islands of the sea!


Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.


The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.


Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the islands and their inhabitants.


He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands will wait for his law.*


Listen, islands, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: the LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name:


My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.

After this shall he turn his face to the islands, and shall take many: but a prince shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; yes, moreover, he shall cause his reproach to turn on him.


The LORD will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.


When the Elyon gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Yisra'el.
