Shlomo stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Yisra'el, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;


whatever prayer and supplication be made by any man, [or] by all your people Yisra'el, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:


It was so, that when Shlomo had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.


(for Shlomo had made a bronze scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the assembly of Yisra'el, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)


It happened, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,


Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.


I spread forth my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.


Oh come, let's worship and bow down. Let's kneel before the LORD, our Maker,


Moshe said to him, *As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD. The thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is the LORD's.


Moshe went out of the city from Par`oh, and spread abroad his hands to the LORD; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.


When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.


In those days I, Daniyel, was mourning three whole weeks.
