For the eyes of the LORD run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; for from henceforth you shall have wars.


and has extended loving kindness to me before the king, and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty princes. I was strengthened according to the hand of the LORD my God on me, and I gathered together out of Yisra'el chief men to go up with me.


this Ezra went up from Bavel: and he was a ready scribe in the Torah of Moshe, which the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God on him.


For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying, The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all those who forsake him.


I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.


Behold, the LORD's eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness;


The LORD's eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.


Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained.


and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.


For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.*
