What is man, that you should magnify him, that you should set your mind on him,


Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, don't set your heart on them.


The magicians of Egypt did in like manner with their enchantments; and Par`oh's heart was hardened, and he didn't listen to them; as the LORD had spoken.


All the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they couldn't drink of the water of the river.


Those who feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Par`oh made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.


Whoever didn't regard the word of the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field.


Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.


Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:


Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.


He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.


The LORD, your hand is lifted up, yet they don't see; but they will see your zeal for the people, and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.


You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.


They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.


O LORD, don't your eyes look on truth? you have stricken them, but they were not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


The man said to me, Son of man, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I shall show you; for, to the intent that I may show them to you, are you brought here: declare all that you see to the house of Yisra'el.


*Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.


If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name,* says the LORD of Armies, *then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.


He said to them, Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, [even] all the words of this law.


About the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her, Don't be afraid; for you have brought forth a son. But she didn't answer, neither did she regard it.
