Ya`akov kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.


He arose, and ate and drink, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Chorev the Mount of God.


He sent Moshe, his servant, and Aharon, whom he had chosen.


Yitro, Moshe' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moshe into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of God.


Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed and kissed him. They asked each other of their welfare, and they came into the tent.


Moshe went up to God, and the LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, *This is what you shall tell the house of Ya`akov, and tell the children of Yisra'el:


All the people perceived the thunderings, the lightnings, the sound of the shofar, and the mountain smoking. When the people saw it, they trembled, and stayed at a distance.


Moshe rose up with Yehoshua, his servant, and Moshe went up onto God's Mountain.


Now Moshe was keeping the flock of Yitro, his father-in-law, the Kohen of Midyan, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God's mountain, to Chorev.


So he let him alone. Then she said, *You are a bridegroom of blood,* because of the circumcision.


Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.


But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.*
