He struck also all the firstborn in their land, the first fruits of all their manhood.


Who struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal;


To him who struck down the Egyptian firstborn; for his loving kindness endures forever;


and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Cham.


Moshe and Aharon went in to Par`oh, and said to him, *This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.


Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,


and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Par`oh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of livestock.


It happened at midnight, that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Par`oh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of livestock.


and it happened, when Par`oh would hardly let us go, that the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of animal. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that opens the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.'


Moshe told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Par`oh and to the Egyptians for Yisra'el's sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how the LORD delivered them.


They will listen to your voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Yisra'el, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD, our God.'


Afterward Moshe and Aharon came, and said to Par`oh, *This is what the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, says, 'Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.'*


*Go in, speak to Par`oh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Yisra'el go out of his land.*


You shall tell him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, *Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness:* and behold, until now you haven't listened.


The LORD spoke to Moshe, Go in to Par`oh, and tell him, *This is what the LORD says, 'Let my people go, that they may serve me.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Tell Aharon, 'Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.'*


They did so; and Aharon stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Par`oh; behold, he comes forth to the water; and tell him, 'This is what the LORD says, *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


Then the LORD said to Moshe, *Go in to Par`oh, and tell him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Par`oh, and tell him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


For if you refuse to let them go, and hold them still,


*When Yisra'el was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
